| Day at the Beach! Fernandina Beach and Ft Clinch For us that live in Florida the weather should be something to shout about. I learned to appreciate it all over again when my sister Pam and her husband Gordon came for a visit from Ohio. They enjoyed the sunshine and warm weather. They were here the last of January and early February. I did not think I could get over the soft sand as I have told you before how difficult it could be for me. However my sister and I took our time and I went down the hill at a angle and I came up it the same way. I used both crutches instead of one which helped to balance me. The climb back up was the hardest but worth it. I totally enjoyed walking on the hard sand and looking for shells. My husband Regan and Gordon (brother in-law) used his metal detector looking for riches. Only found old metal. But then again they had fun. When I got home I rested for two hours as my hip and knee were stressed from the walk. Remember to rest daily. I do, so I can function the rest of the day. | At Fort Clinch I used my scooter. It was too much for me to walk. They have handicapped bathrooms and the walkway was ruff but I enjoyed the fort and outing. |
